I found the luminous silk cloth at Pearl River Mart, in NYC. I've been holding onto it for some time, waiting for the right moment to use it in a still life. When I unfolded it, the fabric was incredibly stiff. So I stomped on it! This loosened the fabric and allowed me to drape it the way I wanted to. I like the way the light travels upward, rolling over the brass and the mandarins, going through the Lunaria leaves and up to the glazed black vase and beyond.
